Crowns are used for teeth that have been fractured, are badly decayed, discolored, weak, need a bridge, are too small to provide support for a large filling, or have been replaced with a dental implant.  A crown covers or “caps” an original tooth (or dental implant) and restores it to its normal shape, size, function and appearance.

Crowns generally cover all surfaces of the tooth either for protection and reinforcement or in certain cases, for appearance.  Our crowns are usually either gold, a gold alloy covered with porcelain, or all porcelain.  With appropriate care they can last a lifetime.
